There is sudden political tension at midnight, with Telugu media channels flashing possible news of the arrest of TDP’s president, Chandrababu Naidu, in Nandyal.
Chandrababu is currently staying overnight in a function hall in Nandyal. As electronic media began airing the possibility of his arrest, a large number of TDP cadre gathered in the area where Chandrababu is staying.
There is no clarity on the basis for the potential arrest, but political speculation suggests it may be related to a recent incident in Angallu. On August 9, the Annamayya district police registered criminal cases against Chandrababu Naidu.
Into the details of the case, a group of YSRCP cadre barged into Chandrababu’s roadshow in the name of giving a memorandum which led to clashes between both the sides. Several Police Personnel were injured along with the cadres on both sides. Cases were booked on the complaint of YSR Congress leader Umapathy who led the group of YSR Congress to CBN‘s Roadshow.
Naidu was made A1 in the case for instigating the cadre and many other TDP leaders were named in the FIR.
However, reports from Nandyal police reportedly deny the arrest news, but TDP supporters are anxiously monitoring the situation.
