Minister of Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao says a new state like Telangana has a lot to gain from the upcoming Miss World pageant. He said the main objective of the pageant was to provide jobs and employment opportunities to the youth of Telangana.
He said the pageant would help the state attract big businesses. Participants from 140 countries will be visiting our state. Also, around 3000 media comprising national and international press will come to Telangana. They will know that a state called Telangana exists and a city called Hyderabad exists, said the Minister.

Along with this, the state’s revenue will increase which will be used for the upliftment of the under-privileged, the Minister went on to say.
The 72nd Miss World pageant to be held in Hyderabad will have the opening ceremony on May 10 in Gachibowli stadium. The grand finale will be held at Hitex on May 31. The winners will be meeting the CM and Governor in Raj Bhavan on June 2, Telangana Formation Day.

The 25-day long event will be held at 12 venues in the city along with some in Warangal, Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. Several guests from states and other countries are expected to attend the gala event.
