Telugu Desam Party Candidates cruised to a sensational victory in the Graduates MLC Elections.

In the Krishna-Guntur MLC Seat, Alapati Raja registered a win with a Record Majority of 82,320 Votes. The Majority of another TDP Candidate Perabattula Rajasekharam is also on similar lines in the Godavari district’s MLC seat.

Previously, Government Employees used to contest more in the Graduates MLC Elections and TDP would often even fear to contest these elections.

And from there, it has come to this level that both the candidates registered Record Majorities.

If we extrapolate these numbers to those of the majority in the assembly elections, The Majorities have increased by 10% when compared to 2024.

These results are also a kind of referendum to Chandrababu Naidu’s Eight Months Rule and that means People are happy with the Rule.

YSR Congress is taken back by these results and is coming up with new arguments. They are asking people to remember that they did not contest this election.

It’s true that the YSR Congress did not contest these elections.

But it has lent support to the PDF candidates in Graduates’ and Teachers’ MLC Constituencies. It’s true that contesting directly on the symbol and supporting another candidate is different.

But nobody did stop YSR Congress from contesting the election. The Party stood away fearing defeat.

When the party itself is not confident of contesting where is the question of ‘Remember YSR Congress did not Contest’.

They are also accusing TDP of using cash and muscle. But if the cash and muscle can really influence an election (not local elections), YSR Congress would not lose the 2024 Assembly elections. We have seen how leaders like Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy stormed into the Polling Station and broke the EVM.

In fact, all the candidates that the YSR Congress supported lost by a whopping margin.

PDF Candidate KS Lakshman Rao was a four-time MLC. He was perceived to be a strong candidate with connections to employee associations. But then, in the last five years, he was hobnobbing with the YSR Congress in the Council by leaving all the issues. And he paid a very hefty price for that.

In 2019, the same PDF candidate won with a majority of 68,000 votes, and with the bad remark of co-operating with YSR Congress, he lost by 82,320 Votes.

So there are things that YSR Congress should worry about so much.
