First it insulted the state with paltry allocations, then it said the state have to bear some of its expense and later it said it will be completed with NABARD loan. But then even the NABARD loan is not happening now. Union Water Resources Ministry officials say the proposal is now dropped.
They say Center is likely to announce a Special Package to the state to carry out various promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act and Polavaram expenses can be met through the funds in the Special Package. So Polavaram hopes linger in air in a illusioned Package. According to the estimates now, Polavaram Project will cost a whopping 32000 Crore.
