Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Demonetization has come as a huge benefit to wood cutters belonging to Tamil Nadu. These wood cutters are used to cut the red sanders from Seshachalam forests. After the demonetization, big smugglers have deposited the old currency and transferred those into the bank accounts of Tamil Nadu woodcutters as their wages in advance.

Officials have identified such saving accounts in rural banks which have never got such huge deposits in the history and passed those details to the Income Tax Department. Some of the accounts were frozen already and notices are being served to identify the big fishes behind.
On the other side, the movement of wood cutters en route to Seshachalam forest is also becoming difficult with the increased vigil of the police department in Rayalaseema. So, the advance wages will help the wood cutters for some months.
