Eluru of West Godavari district continues to be gripping in the fear of a mysterious illness. The count of people getting hospitalized is increasing hour by hour. So far, 443 patients have been admitted to various hospitals. COVID tests are being performed and there are no positive cases so far.
Most of the patients are aged between 20 and 30 while 45 children aged below 12 are also affected. Patients are arriving at hospitals in huge numbers with symptoms of epilepsy and vomiting. All sorts of tests were performed and the doctors could not find the cause.
The opposition alleges that this is due to water contamination. Interestingly, Eluru is the own constituency of Andhra Pradesh Health Minister, Alla Nani and so, the Government has come under severe criticism. Meanwhile, the Central Government is sending a team of experts to see what is happening in Eluru.
The illness first started in the Dakshina Veedhi area of Eluru and has now spread to other parts of the city as well.
