Andhra Pradesh government had decided to build a Temporary Secretariat in Amaravati Township and move the employees by June next year. This construction will cost 180 Crore to the state exchequer. There are several controversies and discussions if this expense is really necessary.

However it is said that Naidu has a clear plan behind this. According to that, the government will recover the double the cost of the Temporary Secretariat from the employees itself in just the time they are going to reside there.
These employees will be paying their professional Taxes in AP and will also spending money in the state which will bring income to government through VAT and other taxes. Besides this, the real estate in the capital will improve and administration will be more closer to people. On the top of all these, government is also planning to auction the temporary buildings to the companies coming to Amaravati construction with out leaving them idle, which will be a big bonus.
