Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at an election rally in Rajasthan caused a huge uproar across the country.

“This ‘urban Naxal’ mindset, mothers and sisters, they will not even leave your ‘mangalsutra’. Congress will distribute your Assets and Gold to They will distribute it to whom – Manmohan Singh’s government had said Muslims have the first right to the country’s assets. They will be distributed among those who have more children. It will be distributed to the infiltrators. Should your hard-earned money go to the infiltrators? Do you approve of this?” he said.

He termed Muslims as those who have more children and infiltrators.

Firstly, Manmohan Singh never said Muslims have the first right to the country’s assets. In 2006, the then Prime Minister speaking at a meeting of the National Development Council on fiscal priorities of the government said the “first claim on resources” is for the upliftment of SCs, STs, OBCs, women and children and minorities.

The video is edited in a way to remove everyone except Minorities and BJP has been using it to polarize Hindus for a long time.

It is shocking that the Prime Minister himself is doing that now.

The 2014 and 2019 campaigns of the BJP are very little about communal polarization. But surprisingly, this election is more on it.

We have seen the BJP extensively use the Ram Mandir in the election campaign.

But that was okay because it is a monumental achievement for Hindus and the BJP is justified for using it.

But this Anti-Muslim speech is surprising for sure. On one side, the BJP is saying “Ab ki baar, 400 Paar”.

If 400+ seats are achievable, it is guaranteed that the Prime Minister would not resort to such rhetoric.

Are we missing something in this election? Is it not as easy as everyone is expecting?

Is the “Ab ki baar, 400 Paar” campaign a farce and PR gimmick like Jagan’s “Why Not 175?”?
