The New Aadhaar App has been launched to make identity verification faster and safer for you. It aims to reduce paperwork and simplify everyday authentication. The app supports the Government of India’s broader digital infrastructure goals.
Unlike older Aadhaar utilities, the New Aadhaar App works as a complete digital identity platform. You can access multiple Aadhaar-related services from one interface. This reduces repeated authentication steps and dependence on physical documents.
QR code-based verification is one of the app’s most important features. You can confirm your identity by scanning an encrypted QR code. This removes the need to share photocopies or carry your Aadhaar card.
The app also supports multiple Aadhaar profiles on one phone. You can manage up to five profiles linked to the same mobile number. This makes Aadhaar access easier for families, especially for children and elderly members.
Privacy controls have been strengthened in the New Aadhaar App. You decide what personal data is shared during verification. This limits unnecessary data access while keeping the process smooth.
The app was formally launched on January 28, 2026. Ashwini Vaishnaw dedicated it to the nation at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. Jitin Prasada attended the event.
With QR verification, family profile access, and improved privacy, the New Aadhaar App updates how you use digital identity services. It reflects a shift toward simpler and more controlled verification across India.
