WhatsApp is preparing to launch a new update that will introduce an Edit Message feature, allowing users to edit their sent messages. While the exact name of the feature has not been disclosed, a video shared by WhatsApp demonstrates the upcoming capability.
Users will soon have a 15-minute window to edit their messages after sending them. Once this time limit expires, changes will no longer be possible. The purpose of this feature is to prevent users from experiencing embarrassment due to mistakenly sending incorrect messages or messages altered by autocorrect.
To edit a message, users will need to long-press on the specific message they wish to modify. WhatsApp will then present the option to edit the message, and upon tapping it, a new window will open, allowing users to update the text.
While the exact release date for the Edit Message feature has not been announced, WhatsApp has teased its impending arrival, stating that it will be available soon. Currently, the feature is accessible in the beta versions for Android and iOS. Users can anticipate the release of the edit button in the near future.
