The new institute will be located in Amaravati’s emerging educational hub, which also serves as the permanent home for the 50-acre National Institute of Design (NID) campus.

The state government has previously requested approximately ₹280 crore in central assistance from the Union Textiles Ministry to support infrastructure construction.

Broader revitalization plans also include developing a Handloom and Handicrafts Museum in Amaravati and establishing dedicated handloom parks in Mangalagiri and Uppada.
