Earlier, it was heard that Jagan assessed the I-PAC reports for Nagari constituency and came to a conclusion that he should the candidate from here due to the huge anti incumbency. This would mean that Nagari sitting MLA Roja would lose her ticket.
Perhaps, Jagan would’ve already communicated this decision to Roja. She took spike with media recently and said she will work for Jagan’s party no matter if she gets the ticket or not.
On the other hand, there is a narrative in YCP that Jagan might give Nagari MLA ticket to local YCP leader KJ Shanthi. However, the terms between Shanthi and Roja are so worst that they can’t even see eye to eye it seems.
Jagan tried to bring them together at a recent public meeting by joining their hands. But this was a failed effort. They smiled at Jagan while he tried to bring their hands together but completely ignore each other later.
Shanthi and Roja then held independent events on Jagan’s birthday a couple of days ago. This was a show of strength on individual counts.
If Jagan really wants to field Shanthi then he will want Roja to support her. But there’s no way that’s happening, given that Roja paid no attention to Jagan’s effort to find common ground between her and Shanthi.
If at all Jagan finalises Shanthi as Nagari candidate, then the chances of Roja listening to Jagan are near zero, say observers. There will be many such rebelling incidents in YCP in the next three months as Jagan is in overdrive about changing his MLA candidates.
