Telangana Jagruthi president Kavitha reacted strongly to Asaduddin Owaisi’s recent statement that Chief Ministers approach him and not the other way around. She questioned this claim and used it to criticise the political positioning of the Owaisi brothers.
Kavitha compared the Owaisi brothers to sunflowers that turn towards whoever holds power. She recalled that when the Telangana movement was underway, the MIM opposed the demand. After Telangana was formed, they aligned with KCR and stayed with him for ten years.
She also pointed out events from 2023 ahead of the Assembly elections. At that time, they labelled Revanth Reddy an RSS man. Now, they did not field a candidate in Jubilee Hills against Congress, which Kavitha said reflects political convenience.
Kavitha added that if Chief Ministers do approach Asaduddin Owaisi, he must ensure development in the old city. She said basic infrastructure issues should be addressed if leaders are truly listening to him.
Referring to Ramzan, Kavitha highlighted that Imams and muezzins have not received salaries for two and a half years. She urged Owaisi to raise this issue and demand free power for mosques and Idgahs during Ramzan, similar to free power given to temples during festivals in Telangana.
