Pithapuram: Alliance Unity Only In Pawan Kalyan’s Words, Not On Ground!

Pawan Kalyan Pithapuram alliance meeting

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan recently visited Pithapuram and inaugurated the three-day Sankranthi celebrations organised by the State Government. During the event, he made important remarks about maintaining unity within the alliance.

Pawan Kalyan said that forming an alliance at both central and state levels is difficult, but breaking it is easy. He warned that some people are trying to weaken the alliance. He urged everyone to act responsibly and protect alliance unity.

He also stated that providing stable governance is their collective responsibility. Pawan Kalyan highlighted the strong understanding between himself and Chief Minister Chandrababu. He clarified that there are no differences between them.

According to him, all ongoing development and welfare programmes are a result of joint efforts. He emphasised that there are no misunderstandings at the leadership level. These comments were meant to reassure both cadres and the public.

While it is good that Pawan Kalyan speaks about alliance unity publicly, the situation in his own constituency tells a different story. Alliance unity appears weak at the local level in Pithapuram. This contrast has raised concerns.

Whenever Pawan Kalyan visits Pithapuram, local TDP and BJP leaders accompany him. During his recent tour, TDP in-charge SVSN Varma was also present. However, this unity seems limited to his visits.

Once Pawan Kalyan leaves, chaos reportedly follows in the constituency. Some Janasena leaders are said to dominate using his name. Meanwhile, TDP leaders are being sidelined completely.

There is growing frustration among Varma’s group. They feel promises made for sacrificing the seat in favour of Pawan Kalyan have not been fulfilled. Their dissatisfaction is being viewed as justified by many.

Politically, Varma is seen as the only route for YSR Congress to gain a foothold in Pithapuram. Keeping him satisfied would help Pawan Kalyan maintain control over all forces in the constituency.

During the event, Pawan Kalyan announced that the party administrative office will be in Mangalagiri. He also said Pithapuram will serve as the party’s central hub. The party plenary will be held there on March 14.

This announcement confirms that Pawan Kalyan will return to Pithapuram in about two months. Many hope that he will resolve the internal issues before then. Alliance unity on the ground remains a key test.
