For the last few days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have been saying that they will remove the religion-based reservation system for Muslims if they come into power once again.
These statements sparked controversy across the country. However, BJP’s alliance parties Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena Party asserted that they will make sure to preserve the reservation for Muslims in Andhra Pradesh.
TDP leaders Chandra Babu Naidu and Nara Lokesh have already cleared their stance on the issue and assured their support to Muslim minorities.
Even Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan stated that despite being in alliance with the BJP, he opposes the idea of removing the reservation for Muslims. He stated that Jana Sena will oppose religion-based politics for sure.
Pawan Kalyan reminded that he was one of the first individuals to condemn the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, a couple of years ago.
He said that in an alliance, parties can sometimes have differing principles and policies. “No parties in the alliance will agree on 100% of all aspects. Alliance forms when we agree upon around 80% of factors. There will be differences in the rest 20% for sure,” said Pawan.
“TDP has a deep-rooted structure and knows electioneering very well. In comparison, Jana Sena is filled with young blood who fight against the thugs in the government. Their experience and our fighting force complement each other well,” opined Pawan.
