Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan shared his views after inspecting the Rushikonda Palace, which now falls under the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department.
Pawan Kalyan welcomed the decision and said the building should be used for tourism purposes. He suggested converting the ₹453 crore property into a MICE destination, following global examples like Dubai.
MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions. These destinations also attract luxury weddings and high end corporate events. Globally, cities like Dubai, Singapore, and Barcelona lead the MICE trend.
In India, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Goa are top MICE cities. Pawan Kalyan said Vizag could soon join that list with proper planning and development.
He added that since the previous Chandrababu Naidu government aimed to develop Vizag as a world class tourist spot, Rushikonda Palace could be the perfect venue for destination weddings.
If the plan succeeds, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s dream project may soon turn into a luxury celebration hub full of band, baaja, and baraat.
