Rs 500 Cr Rushikonda Palace Ceiling Falls Apart

Damaged ceiling at Rushikonda palace

In a striking example of the previous YS Jagan government’s failure, parts of the ceiling at the ₹500 crore Rushikonda palace have fallen apart. The incident raises serious questions about the quality of construction despite the huge cost.

Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan recently visited Rushikonda during his trip to Vizag. He instructed engineers and Jana Sena leaders to conduct a safety audit of the building without delay.

The Chandrababu government had earlier planned to convert the Rushikonda palace into a guest house or use it for other public purposes. However, it has now become a white elephant, with just the electricity bill touching ₹1 crore.

The current administration is considering converting it into a tourism facility after necessary repairs. The building has already faced backlash due to environmental violations and related concerns.

It is believed that Jagan initially wanted to use Rushikonda as his residence in Vizag. But that plan fell apart after his heavy defeat in the recent elections.
