The issue of alliances is turning interesting in Andhra Pradesh. Janasena President Pawan Kalyan announced his first candidate in Tanuku and decided to attend the NDA partners meeting in Delhi on 18th July.
Both these decisions have raised eyebrows in AP Political circles. Firstly, Tanuku is a strong ground for TDP and has a strong candidate in Arimilli Radhakrishna.
In the recent Aatma Sakshi survey, Janasena just had 9% vote share here while TDP is having a healthy lead of 5% votes over YSR Congress. Announcing candidate in such a seat is against the Spirit of the alliance.
Also, Pawan Kalyan has indicated that he will seek the seats where TDP is strong and will cause damage like how TRS did in 2009.
And then, attending the NDA partners meeting when BJP has indicated that it is not in favor of a United Opposition is another indication that Pawan Kalyan is not reliable.
TDP supporters who are strictly opposing the alliance right from the start have gained ground once again with this behaviour of Pawan Kalyan.
It is for Chandrababu to decide and the time is ticking.
