The Pinnelli Brothers faced a major setback in the Supreme Court in the Palnadu double murders case. The Apex Court dismissed both petitions filed by the Brothers.
The Court also cancelled the interim bail earlier granted to them. The jury stated that the Pinnelli Brothers were not eligible for anticipatory bail. This added more pressure on their defence.
The counsel for the AP government told the Court that the Pinnelli Brothers did not cooperate with the investigation despite clear orders. The lawyer also said they threatened witnesses and attempted to tamper with proofs.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the Court said there was no need for permission to arrest the Pinnelli Brothers. Their lawyer requested two weeks time for them to surrender.
The jury also noted that the Brothers appeared to be receiving support from the police. They questioned the state government about the Pinnelli Brothers obtaining documents filed under Section 161. The Court said a custodial inquiry was essential in this case.
The Pinnelli Brothers are accused of the double murders of TDP activists Javisetty Venkateswarlu and Javisetty Koteswara Rao.
