Pithapuram’s TDP in-charge SVSN Varma asserted his unconditional support to Pawan Kalyan. He expressed confidence in the victory of alliance parties.
On the other side, he also made severe allegations against the Kakinada sitting MP and YCP’s local MLA candidate, Vanga Geetha.
Varma asserted that under Geetha’s tenure, farmers incurred losses of around Rs. 600 crores due to a lack of water for farming.
He further alleged that the Purushothapatnam project, which was started during her term, was neglected by the YCP. He took an assurance from Chandrababu to revive the project when TDP comes into power.
Varma claimed that during Geetha’s tenure, she took a 25 crore rupee commission from a pipeline contractor and diverted 3 TMC of water meant for Pithapuram farmers to Tandava. He also accused her of selling 30 posts for Rs. 7 crores to fund herself for the election campaign.
Additionally, Varma also stated that Geetha was seen nowhere in the constituency for the last five years. He accused her of neglecting people during crisis periods, such as the lack of medicine availability during the COVID-19 pandemic, farmers’ struggles during droughts, and when floods caused the submersion of crops.
Varma revealed that Geetha took money from Aurobindo Pharma under the name of CSR funds. He pointed out that local fishermen had been opposing Aurobindo Pharma due to the harmful effects of the chemicals leaked into the sea by the company.
Rather than supporting the fishermen’s concerns, Varma accused Geetha of accepting money from Aurobindo Pharma. He alleged that out of the one crore she took, Geetha allocated only 20 lakhs for CSR initiatives and pocketed the remaining 80 lakhs.
He challenged her to prove his allegations wrong. He said that people are not in a state to believe her anymore and expressed confidence in Pawan’s thumping victory.
