Chandrababu Naidu has got a strong candidate in Minister Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy’s bastion, Punganur. The candidate Challa Babu is extremely active in the constituency and is worrying the Minister as well.
Today Challa Babu is on his way to Najampeta Village to conduct Idhem Karma Rashtraniki program. Peddireddy’s men pelted stones destroying glasses of Challa Babu’s car and others in the convoy.
Police tried to convince Babu to stop the program but they were adamant. The convoy was attacked once again at another village, Pedda Upparapally.
TDP cadre alleges that Police is unilaterally supporting the Ruling Party under the influence of the Minister. They allege that Police even lathi charged on TDP cadre leaving unruly mob of YSR Congress.
Peddireddy has been winning the Punganur constituency since 2009. He represented Pileru constituency three times before that. He is a contractor and is into the mining business. As a result, he has been a cash bag and a strongman in the district.
Peddireddy being worried about a newcomer does not sound well for YSR Congress’s 2024 campaign.
