BJP MP Raghunandan Rao has taken aim at AIMIM over the Jubilee Hills by-election. He questioned why the party, which contests in states with no base, is not fielding a candidate in its own stronghold of Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media at the BJP state office in Hyderabad, Raghunandan Rao asked who AIMIM plans to support. “Is it joining hands with the Congress?” he said, raising doubts about the party’s silence.
He added that Asaduddin Owaisi seems to be leaning toward the Congress, while his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi appears to be supporting the BRS. “Will this create a rift within AIMIM?” asked the BJP leader.
Raghunandan Rao also alleged that Congress had a secret pact with AIMIM, promising to make an AIMIM leader the mayor of Hyderabad after the GHMC elections. He claimed that Congress would field a candidate backed by AIMIM in Jubilee Hills.
According to Rao, both Congress and AIMIM fear BJP’s growing influence. He said they are uniting to stop BJP from winning the Jubilee Hills seat and later taking control of the GHMC and the mayor’s post. “If that happens, Bhagyanagar’s future will suffer,” he warned.
