Actor Rakul Preet Singh has criticized Telangana minister Konda Surekha for using her name to gain political advantage.

In a post on X, Rakul expressed her frustration over the minister’s remarks and urged leaders to stop misusing her name for political gain.
Konda Surekha had previously accused BRS leader KTR of being linked to drug parties and claimed he played a role in the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

She further alleged that KTR introduced female actors to drugs, causing some, like Rakul, to leave the film industry early due to the pressure.
In her detailed note, Rakul emphasized the Telugu Film Industry’s reputation for creativity and professionalism. She expressed her emotional connection to the industry and condemned the baseless rumors about its female members.

Rakul stated, “It pains to hear such baseless and vicious rumors being spread about the women of this fraternity.”
She also highlighted that it was disheartening to see a woman in a responsible position spreading such claims.
Rakul clarified her apolitical stance, stating she has no connections to any political party and urged that artists should be kept out of political controversies.
She insisted on the importance of not using her name maliciously to gain headlines through false narratives.
Additionally, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has filed a criminal and defamation case against Konda Surekha in the Nampally court over her statements.
