Legendary Media Baron Cherukuri Ramoji Rao passed away earlier hours of today fighting prolonged illness due to age-related ailments.

Ramoji Rao left an indelible mark on Telugu Journalism as he made letters as weapon and always fought for the people particularly the poor.

He was always on their side exposing the Government failures and fighting for the rights of the people.

Eenadu was an embodiment of highest degree of Journalism Values without any Fear or Favor.

In 1983, With NT Ramarao, Eenadu played an instrumental role in ending the Congress rule that has been marred by Corruption and Self-centric policies.

Later we have seen him fight the Late YSR and recently Jagan Mohan Reddy against their tyrannical rule.

The duel with YSR ended with the latter’s unfortunate demise in an accident. But it was Ramoji Rao who brought down Jagan.

He had an immense contribution to Telugu literature as he completely avoided English influence in his Newspaper or Television.

Staff at Eenadu says when he was hale and healthy, he used to go through every word in the Fine Print and would get very angry if a single English word crept inadvertently.

He is also involved in many charity activities through his Eenadu Foundation.

In 2016, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second highest award.

He is a Fitting man for Bharat Ratna. Hopefully Narendra Modi Government would honor him with it posthumously.
