Ramoji Rao‘s Jayanthi: Legend Not Missed

Ramoji Rao remembered on his Jayanthi

It has been almost two years since Media Baron Ramoji Rao passed away. Today is his Jayanthi, a day when people naturally remember him. Yet his absence feels unusual because his presence continues through Eenadu and the ETV Network.

Ramoji Rao built the Eenadu empire from scratch. He worked on the editorial side every single day for decades. Even in his final days, when he was bedridden, he continued overseeing the editorial work with the same dedication.

Most media houses struggle after the founder’s death. Many newspapers and magazines never release a single edition once the main pillar is gone. But Eenadu stayed strong after Ramoji Rao’s demise, without any disturbance in strategy or daily operations.

His business empire stretched far beyond Eenadu and ETV. In many families, heirs fight after the founder passes away, collapsing everything. But Ramoji Rao’s heirs stayed united. This stands in sharp contrast to the families of leaders like YSR and KCR, who faced internal conflicts.

Ramoji Rao carried dignity even in death. During his final days, the Jagan Government ordered a CID inquiry on Margadarshi and released photos of him in a hospital bed, causing public outrage. Despite this, he stood firm in spirit.

He played a key role in Jagan’s defeat and passed away only after polling ended in Andhra Pradesh and the result became clear. Supporters see this as a powerful closing chapter to a remarkable life. Even today, Ramoji Rao lives through Eenadu.
