Breaking-News-RATINGSBARC released the ratings of Telugu News Channels for Week 40 of this year for AP and Telangana. In the 15+ age group category, NTV and TV9 are the Top 2 positions. V6 is in third while ABN and Sakshi are in the next positions.

Chandrababu Naidu‘s arrest spiked the interest of the audience of News Channels.

TV5 which is usually in the third position dropped sixth after the arrest. ABN occupied that place and is at fourth.

Sakshi which was totally down after the 2019 elections gained after Naidu’s arrest. It looks like the charged supporters of YSR Congress are consuming more of Sakshi after Chandrababu’s arrest.

TV5 also gained 3.2 GRPs this week but is still in the sixth position.

Ratings and Rankings of News Channels usually help gauge the mood of the General Public ahead of the election. But then, this change in ratings is more because of Chandrababu’s arrest and the increase in the consumption of news by the supporters of respective parties. So, this recent surge may not give an exact idea.

Telangana elections are around the corner. There were rumors that V6 Owner, Vivek Venkatswamy would quit BJP and join Congress but that did not happen. V6 is comfortably in third position.




T News, the mouthpiece of BRS, however, is disappointing as it dropped to eighth position in the last few weeks.
