Election season is usually go time for leading media outlets as they get to cash in on viewership through election reports and related stuff. But the latest trends are suggesting that TV9 is going downward despite the Telangana election season.
The latest GRP ratings suggest that TV9 has been going on a downward spiral for the last few weeks in AP and Telangana.
The leading media outlet has seen a decline of nearly 40% in the last 7 weeks as the GRP has gone down from 82 to 56.5(latest). TV9 is usually benefits by the election season due to increased viewership in both the Telugu states but that is not the case this time around.
While other media outlets like TV5 and ABN have been going on an upward trend, TV9 is going down. Even NTV has been slightly going downward.
Amidst the growing backlash on TV9 and NTV for taking a pro-YCP stance, this decline in GRP speaks for itself, commented a political observer.
