YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called for a Pressmeet and flayed Chandrababu’s Liquor Policy.
He tried to defend selling cheap quality liquor during his regime saying that he did not give licenses to a single new distillery and that all the objectionable brands got their license during Chandrababu’s regime.
“These brands are also sold today. They just gave wings to lies and did a fake propaganda against my government,” Jagan said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is intelligently lying on this issue.
No Government will say it will only allow Premium brands in a state.
Take the case of something as simple as a bread. You allow Britania Bread to be sold and a local bakery is also allowed.
The quality of Brittania bread will be obviously a bit higher. But you give a choice to the consumer.
People can buy Brittania bread or the local bread. The government is not interfering.
Chandrababu Naidu may have given permission to many local brands of liquor. But during his tenure, he did not stop the premium brands and forced people to only drink those local brands that were of not good quality.
During Jagan’s regime, the Premium brands were not allowed to sell in Andhra Pradesh.
Moreover, the then Ruling Party had a secret understanding with the local brands to sell inferior quality liquor and give huge cuts to the party fund.
The local brands will be sold today as well. But people do not choose them because better and premium brands are available for purchase.
Let us continue the same example of the bread.
So the Brittania bread packet is 50 Rupees and Local Bread is 30 Rupees. During Chandrababu’s regime, both are available and people can purchase both.
Then, the Jagan Government came and they discouraged Brittania bread in Government shops without paying their bills for a long time. No private players were allowed to sell bread (read in the context of liquor).
People only have the local bread in the Government shops.
So, they approach the local bread makers. “I have helped you by eradicating the competition of a superior product. So, in every bread packet you sell, send me 15 Rupees,” they say.
The local bread makers will only have a margin of 10 Rupees per packet. So, he reduces the quality. He gives 15 Rupees to the Ruling Party. 10 Rupees is his margin and imagine making bread with just 5 Rupees.
The same company bread is available in Chandrababu’s regime and Jagan’s regime. Same Company, Same Label, and Same Packaging. But the quality is different.
Just replace Bread with Liquor and you understand the business.
Jagan tries to put up an innocent face saying Chandrababu gave permission and we sold the same brands.
