Is it a case of muh mein Ram, bagal mein Owaisi for Telangana CM Revanth Reddy? Despite his consistent claims about belonging to the ‘BJP school’ and meeting PM Modi for projects and his open alliance with MIM for Jubilee Hills seat, CM Revanth Reddy had some strong words to say about both parties. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy drew daggers against the BJP. He alleged that due to pressure on Prime Minister Modi, the semi-conductor manufacturing facility was shifted to Andhra Pradesh though it was initially meant for Telangana. He said the BJP was also shifting projects to Gujarat instead of giving them to Telangana.
Speaking at his Jubilee Hills residence to media on Monday, Revanth Reddy said that in the past 12 years, how many projects did Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay get for Telangana. He said the officials told him that if Telangana paid a rupee in taxes, they were getting projects worth 42 paise. The CM said though the BJP claimed that it was giving crores of rupees to Telangana and southern states, the lion’s share went to the northern states. He questioned what special projects did Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy get for Telangana.
Then, Revanth Reddy made some sensational statements. He said that though the state BJP leaders claimed their God was Ram, they all salute Owaisi every morning. I don’t know how many times they say Ram, but they take Asaduddin Owaisi’s name through the day, he said.
Revanth Reddy alleged that Owaisi was BJP’s lifeline. They beg for votes using MIM’s name he said adding that MIM was a political party like any other. Using religion-based politics to go further showcases the cheap mentality of the BJP, said Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy said it is upto the people of Telangana to decide if they want to vote for the saffron party.
Political analysts have mixed opinions based on Revanth Reddy’s comments. One section says it is Revanth Reddy who is friends with MIM as was evident during the Jubilee Hills bypoll. They say that Revanth Reddy plays friends with Prime Minister Modi, but has zero tolerance towards Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy.
The analysts say it is a case of ‘muh mein Ram, bagal mein Owaisi’ for Revanth Reddy. Many feel it is a mere poll tactic to divert attention towards religion-based parties.
