Revanth’s Metro Mission: The ₹38,000 Crore Pitch

Hyderabad Metro Phase II plan

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy landed in Delhi today, May 6, 2026, with a massive blueprint in his briefcase. His mission is clear: secure the final Central Government nod for Hyderabad Metro Phase II. After the state officially took full control of Phase I from L&T last week, the path is now clear for this high-stakes expansion.

The proposal is massive, covering 122.9 km across seven new corridors and adding 86 stations. The goal isn’t just to add more tracks, but to fix the city’s biggest pain points, airport connectivity and the nightmare traffic in the IT and expansion zones.

The project carries a heavy price tag of over ₹38,000 crore. Revanth is meeting Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today to push for a 50:50 partnership between the State and Centre. By treating this like a corporate mission, the government hopes to triple Hyderabad’s network to nearly 192 km.
