BRS senior leader and MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav appeared before the media after a long gap and criticised the government over the arbitrary division of the Hyderabad metropolitan area. He said the move lacked planning and ignored historical realities.
Talasani Srinivas Yadav stated that Hyderabad and Secunderabad hold immense historical significance. He expressed anger over Secunderabad being divided in a haphazard manner, despite its rich legacy. He claimed the decision undermines the city’s identity.
He announced a large-scale protest on the 17th of this month at Secunderabad Railway Station and other locations. The protest will be held along with supporting parties. He alleged that the division was done without any technical study.
During the press meet, Talasani Srinivas Yadav criticised the language used by CM Revanth Reddy. He said such language could negatively influence children and demanded that the Chief Minister change his tone and conduct.
For several years, KCR used similar language in public discourse. A section of BRS supporters and parts of the media defended it as Telangana Basha and Telangana slang. The same style is now being mirrored by Revanth Reddy.
BRS cannot take a moral stand when faced with similar tactics. The party is facing the consequences of its own political methods. KCR earlier used harsh language against Chandrababu Naidu, who rarely responded with the same intensity.
YSR showed restraint despite being capable of retaliation. KCR continued using aggressive language during the agitation in the name of Telangana Basha and Yasa. Even today, KTR uses similar language while responding to Revanth Reddy.
In Andhra Pradesh, people punished YSR Congress for similar behaviour. After five years, arrogance was decisively rejected. Revanth Reddy must remain cautious, as power is never permanent, as seen in the cases of KCR and Jagan Mohan Reddy.
