Lunch With NTV Chowdary: Shift In TG Media Space

Revanth Reddy Lunch With NTV Chowdary

After coming into power in Telangana, Congress has been actively trying to lure BRS leaders and their allies to its side, resulting in numerous BRS leaders jumping to the Congress camp. Now, even TV channels are shifting their sides.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and several cabinet ministers made an unusual move by having lunch at the residence of NTV owner Narendra Chowdary. This is indeed a surprising move as we don’t generally see a CM and his cabinet ministers visiting a TV channel owner’s house for lunch.

NTV, a top Telugu news channel, frequently competes with TV9 for the top spot in the TRP ratings. It also secured the top position among news channels many times. Before the assembly elections, both NTV and TV9 used to be pro-BRS. But after the elections, Congress is trying to turn the tables.

With V6, owned by MLA Vivek, already in Congress’s corner, securing the support of NTV and TV9 would bring top media houses on the Congress’s side, providing a good advantage in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Notably, the state government recently filed a land-grabbing case against My Home Group, which holds a significant stake in TV9. This could lead TV9 to support Congress in the coming days.

In the Karimnagar BRS meet, KCR also expressed disappointment over media channels. This also shows that the favour is slowly shifting to Congress.

The lunch meeting between Revanth and Narendra Chowdary strongly suggests NTV’s potential alliance with Congress, marking a major development in Telangana politics ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
