Whenever a big-budget movie is set for release, producers often approach the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to request ticket price hikes.

This tradition has been ongoing for many years. Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has introduced a condition for all film producers, including those of big-budget movies.

He announced that it is mandatory to screen awareness films against drug consumption and cybercrime during every show in all theatres across the state.

He urged star actors, producers, and directors to create awareness videos on these social issues and submit them to government officials or the police department.

He also thanked Chiranjeevi for making a video on the dangers of drug consumption for the International Day against Drug Abuse recently.

Revanth Reddy emphasized that even movies worth hundreds of crores must include awareness films on these topics before the feature film screening.

He pointed out that while producers request ticket price hikes, they have shown little interest in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug consumption and cybercrime.

Therefore, he ordered that all producers and theatre owners screen three-minute awareness films on the dangers of drug consumption and cybercrime either before or after the movie screening.

He warned that any producer, director, or actor who fails to comply with these rules will not receive government support in the future.

This is indeed a good initiative from Revanth Reddy to involve actors and celebrities in spreading awareness about drug consumption and cybercrime.

This is a good decision, unlike AP’s former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, who demanded movie stars to honour him, bow to him, and fund him through electoral bonds when he was in rule.
