Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to discuss key infrastructure and defence-related projects in the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation for the transfer of Defence Ministry land essential for the Gandhi Sarovar Project. He thanked the central leadership for this cooperation, noting its importance for state development.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the expansion of the Adilabad Airport. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state’s commitment to land acquisition and utility shifting to support the planned expansion of the Indian Air Force base.

He requested central assistance to establish civil infrastructure alongside the military base. This includes a civil aviation terminal, cargo facilities, aircraft hangars, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services.

Additionally, the Chief Minister urged the Defence Minister to expedite the sanction of a major DRDO/DRDL project proposed near Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district.

The meeting concluded with Revanth Reddy reiterating the state’s readiness to work jointly with the Centre on initiatives that balance regional growth with national security.
