Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took a jibe at the bigwigs of the Telugu film industry for not responding to the government’s proposal regarding the Gaddar Awards.

During an event held on revolutionary singer Gaddar’s birth anniversary earlier this year, Revanth Reddy announced that they would give the ‘Gaddar Awards’ to people who excel in cinema, replacing the Nandi Awards in the state.

Nandi Awards, which were traditionally given to people who excel in the field of cinema, have not been held over the past few years.

After coming into power in Telangana, Revanth announced that his government was ready to give awards in the name of Gaddar.

Revanth asked the bigwigs of Tollywood to provide input and suggestions for starting these awards. However, no one from the industry took it seriously.

Revanth was upset with the lack of response from the Telugu film industry. Recently, at C. Narayana Reddy’s birth anniversary event, Revanth mentioned that despite the government’s decision to replace Nandi Awards with Gaddar Awards, no one from Tollywood approached the government with their inputs or suggestions.

He stated that the government is still ready to present Gaddar Awards every year on December 9 but is disappointed by the lack of response from the prominent figures of Tollywood.

Now, after Revanth expressed his disappointment with the bigwigs of Tollywood, we have to see if any of the film folks approach him in the coming days to discuss the Gaddar Awards.
