Well, it’s indeed something to ponder. The thought came about to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy who feels that Hyderabad city has the ideal infrastructure to hold Olympics.
He was speaking at the India Today Conclave 2025, where he pitched for the City of Pearls. He said he had spoken about the same to Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
When it comes to sports, we have conducted world military games, national games and Afro-Asian games, said the CM. We have very good infrastructure in Hyderabad.
Added to that Sania Mirza, PV Sindhu, Nikhat Zareen and all those who performed in Olympics and cricket are from Telangana. So our infrastructure is 100% better than that of the main contender Ahmedabad.
When Rajdeep Sardesai who was coordinating the talk asked him if Hyderabad was better than Ahmedabad, CM Revanth Reddy said let’s take a fact-finding team and you tell us which city is better.
Revanth further said I request the PM to consider Hyderabad over Ahmedabad. He pointed out that the 72nd Miss World contest was happening in Hyderabad in May, 2025. Then why not Olympics questioned Revanth Reddy.
