Actor Nagarjuna’s N-Convention was demolished yesterday by the HYDRAA officials for encroaching on the lake’s land in the Madhapur area of Hyderabad.
Today, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asserted that his approach will be aggressive in demolishing illegal constructions. Speaking at an event on Sunday, Revanth Reddy opened up on the influential persons in the society, encroaching lakes to construct farmhouses.
Revanth Reddy declared that all unauthorized constructions, especially those encroaching on ponds, would be demolished, regardless of the pressure of influential individuals or groups.
He also indicated that even buildings connected to those within the government would not be spared if they were found to be illegal.
“Hyderabad is a city of lakes. However, the wealthy people in the society who are highly influential are constructing farmhouses near the water bodies, often diverting drainage into the ponds, which has polluted essential water sources like Gandipet,” said Revanth Reddy.
The Telangana CM also mentioned that there is no political angle in demolishing illegal constructions and added that the demolition drive was being undertaken for the benefit of future generations. Revanth reaffirmed that his commitment to freeing Hyderabad’s ponds from encroachment and ensuring that nature is preserved for future generations.
What’s interesting is Revanth Reddy getting his inspiration from Geetha Saransham. “Bhagavdgeetha inspires me in this battle against those involved in encroachment of lakes and illegal constructions. I am fighting for our future generations and to deliver the justice,” he said.
