Revanth Reddy’s Pet Project, HYDRAA made reasonable exemptions in its modus operandi the other day. HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath announced exempting the constructions that are already occupied giving relief to the middle class and the poor.

That means going forward, HYDRAA will only go after the under-construction buildings and maybe the violating commercial structures.

HYDRAA came in handy for Revanth Reddy in building his image in public. As and when needed, it will also help him divert issues.

If the Government is in trouble on some issue, HYDRAA will go after some celebrity or big political leader diverting the Public and the media.

And then, there is also a real estate gain for the city in this issue.

HYDRAA urged people not to purchase the lands in FTL and Buffer Zone of the Lakes going forward. It is clear that the Government will hold no responsibility even if the Builder cheats or the Government officials themselves give permission.

So, the awareness among the people is slowly increasing and there is a demand for litigation-free title deeds.

It is at this juncture, that HMDA plots will come in demand.

We do not know if there is such foresight in Revanth Reddy. But both the Chief Minister and the Revenue Minister are experts in the real estate sector and it could come as a blessing in disguise for the city.

This can emerge as a strategic plan that could help HMDA acquire land, develop its own layouts, and sell them.

In the current situation, people will naturally tilt towards them because they come with clear titles. This could generate significant revenue for the state government while also contributing to proper city planning.

But then for this to become a success, HYDRAA should be as serious as it is today. Revanth Reddy should also make some political sacrifices and go after illegal constructions of all parties. The purpose would be defeated if it is only used for the Opposition.
