Tollywood had cordial relations with the previous KCR government in Telangana. It was easier for big films to get ticket price hikes and additional shows in the KCR regime. But there is a new CM for Telangana now and it is Revanth Reddy.
Incidentally, Salaar is the first big film to release after Revanth took charge as the CM of Telangana. Coming to the point, Mythri distributors who are releasing Salaar in Nizam, have now applied for additional ticket price hikes for the film.
Another point that needs to be considered here is that the film industry was rather subdued when it came to wishing Revanth Reddy’s government. Barring a few stars, Tollywood as an industry didn’t wish Revanth the way they wished KCR in 2018.
If Revanth takes this into consideration and decides to put his down on the industry, things could get hostile. But if he decides to let alone this inconsequential aspect, then he should be going rather easy.
We will get a measure of Revanth’s stance on the film industry based on the way he deals with the Salaar situation. If he grants the ticket hike permission rather easily, then it could mean he doesn’t hold anything against the industry and that is exactly what Tollywood would be hoping for.
