Senior Actor Merges Party Into The BJP

Tamil actor Sarath Kumar has officially merged his All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) party with the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Sarath Kumar stated that this decision has been taken for the welfare of the people and the nation. He stated that he is proud and happy about this decision. He is expected to contest from South Tamilnadu in the Lok Sabha elections, representing the BJP.

Sarath Kumar started AISMK in 2007 and was an ally of AIADMK for a long time. His party won two seats in the 2011 elections. Sarath Kumar was one of the two winning MLAs from his party, in that election.

On the other side, another senior actor Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Needhi Maiam formed an alliance with DMK and Congress just a few days ago, for the Lok Sabha elections.
