Senior actress Aamani joined the BJP on Saturday. The induction took place in the presence of prominent BJP leaders of Telangana.
Union Minister Kishan Reddy and state BJP chief Ramachander Rao formally welcomed her into the party at 12 noon.
Aamani arrived wearing an orange saree that symbolised the saffron party. The actress has made a strong mark in cinema by working with top stars like Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna.
A few more film actors are expected to join the BJP in the coming days. While it is common for actors to enter politics, Aamani’s entry has drawn special attention.
Political analysts say her popularity and strong opinions on social issues add weight to her move. They believe her views are likely to align well with the BJP’s ideology.
Aamani had earlier sparked curiosity after meeting Ramachander Rao a few days ago. During that meeting, they discussed a range of issues, following which the party decided to induct her.
Aamani stated that joining the BJP would allow her to focus on social service. She described this as something very close to her heart.
