BRS

The Telugu states are gearing up for the polling of the 2024 General Elections, which are scheduled to be held on May 13. While Telangana is undergoing just Lok Sabha polls, AP will have both assembly and parliament polling.

After losing the Telangana assembly elections, BRS is aiming to bounce back in the Lok Sabha polls. However, it is facing a setback as one of its strengths in the GHMC region is being lost.

BRS secured 16 of 24 seats in the GHMC region in the assembly elections. Most of these votes came from the Andhra settlers. So, BRS thought this favour from the Andha settlers would reflect in the Lok Sabha polls as well, in the constituencies of Secunderabad, Malkajgiri and Chevella.

However, the settlers of these regions are moving to Andhra Pradesh this week to cast their votes in their native places. They are considering AP elections more important than Telangana Lok Sabha polls.

This could be a major setback for BRS as it is losing its major vote contributors this time due to the clash with AP Elections.

Thus, it has to be seen how BRS manages to overcome this setback and win those three seats of the GHMC region.
