The political scene in Andhra Pradesh is indeed heating up as the election fervor intensifies. With all major parties actively engaged in campaigning, intriguing developments are unfolding in various constituencies, adding to the excitement.

One such development involves former MLA Amanchi Krishnamohan, who recently bid farewell to the YSRCP after failing to secure a ticket from Chirala in the Bapatla district. Following his departure from the party, Krishnamohan convened a meeting with his supporters, where opinions were sought regarding his political future.

Reportedly, his followers have suggested that he should contest as an MLA candidate for Chirala under the Congress banner. Consequently, Krishnamohan announced his decision to join the Congress party and contest from Chirala, with the intention of maintaining an equal distance from both the YSRCP and TDP.

He emphasized that he holds no personal animosity towards either Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP or YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSRCP, acknowledging their respective stature. Krishnamohan further clarified his intentions by expressing his respect for both party leaders, indicating his willingness to work with the Congress.

His decision to join the Congress will be formalized with an invitation extended to APCC chief YS Sharmila. Having contested from Chirala in the previous election under the YSRCP banner and subsequently facing defeat at the hands of TDP candidate Karanam Balaram, Krishnamohan’s political trajectory has seen fluctuations.

Despite being appointed in charge of Parchur by the YSRCP, Krishnamohan opted not to contest from the constituency, leading to his decision to seek a political home elsewhere. Krishnamohan’s political journey, which includes two successful terms as a Congress nominee in the AP Assembly, reflects his enduring presence and influence in the region.

As he embarks on this new chapter with the Congress party, the dynamics of the electoral landscape in Chirala are poised for further evolution
