YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has hinted that his sister Sharmila may not contest this election. Speaking in a National Newspaper interview, Jagan said Sharmila do not want to contest direct elections till her son Raja Reddy enters college. “I agreed since her reason is valid”, said Jagan. Raja Reddy is currently in 9th standard.

Jagan also said that he do not want to leave Telangana. “Sharmila will be the incharge of Telangana post elections. She will be starting Odarpu Yatra there once the elections complete”, said Jagan. Regarding the rumours on rift within the family, “All these are baseless. I love her more than my daughters”. There are rumours that Sharmila may be contesting for Vishakapatnam Parliament. In all probability, this news is not true and may be a disappointment for Sharmila fans.
