Former MLA Ashannagari Jeevan Reddy from Nizamabad district’s Armor, representing the BRS, faced a major setback when the Finance Corporation issued notices for unpaid dues amounting to Rs. 45.46 crores related to a commercial complex he had built on the Armor RTC Depot site. The notices demand immediate payment of the outstanding amount.
This isn’t the first time Jeevan Reddy has faced financial and administrative troubles. Previously, officials from RTC and Electricity Departments had also issued notices due to rent and electricity bill arrears.
Jeevan Reddy had leased the RTC site in Armor to construct a shopping mall but had reportedly been avoiding rent payments for some time, amounting to approximately Rs. 7.50 crores. Furthermore, he has also failed to pay the electricity bills for the shopping mall.
Despite using his political influence to delay payment, the situation changed after he lost his position as MLA following the recent elections. With the new Congress government in power, RTC and electricity officials took immediate action by issuing notices and even disconnecting the power supply to the mall.
The RTC officials have gone further, seizing Jeevan Reddy’s mall due to non-payment of rent arrears, signaling that further legal or administrative action could follow if the dues remain unpaid.
