Sensational details have emerged in the high-profile investigation into the disappearance of Gade Sai Krishna in Vijayawada.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the matter has officially stated in its remand report submitted to the court that the preliminary investigation confirms it as a case of lockup death.
According to the report, Sai Krishna died due to severe physical injuries sustained while being subjected to torture in police custody.
To cover up the incident and eliminate proof of his detention and interrogation, the police personnel involved intentionally deleted months of crucial CCTV camera footage from the Krishnalanka police station.
The probe revealed that task force personnel originally apprehended Sai Krishna on May 6 in Markapuram before moving him to Krishnalanka.
The SIT has since arrested the primary accused, suspended Circle Inspector S.S.V.V. Nagaraju, and is further investigating the destruction of evidence and the secret disposal of the victim’s mortal remains.
