But AP government says that these projects are redesigned and will need fresh permissions. Further, Kiran Kumar Reddy back then only gave G.O.s for the survey of the projects but not for their construction. Finally the issue reached Supreme Court. Hearing to the arguments of both the sides, Supreme Court delivered its judgement a little while ago.
The Apex Court supported Andhra argument in this case. Supreme court maintained that these projects do not come under Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act and have to be ratified by the Apex Council formed with the officials of the center and both the Telugu states, before constructing. The court also added that any project in future had to be constructed only with the permission of the Apex Council.
