The qualifying teams of the ICC T20 World Cup are finalized. Sri Lanka, Namibia, Bangladesh, and Scotland are the four teams that advance to the tournament. Group A of the Super 12 stage will now feature Australia, South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh, England, and Sri Lanka.
Group B features the teams of India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Namibia, Scotland, and Afghanistan. The draw looks very easy for Team India in the league matches. Except for New Zealand, no other team looks threatening for Team India.
Even if the match against the Kiwis is lost, the team can proceed to the knockout stage. Meanwhile, the first match of India in the tournament will happen tomorrow. Team India takes on archrivals Pakistan. Pakistan is yet to defeat India in a World Cup. The record is likely to stay intact with the poor form of the neighbors.
But staying complacent may prove to be costly. If the match is lost, the impact will be so high that it will damage India’s morale in the World Cup and prove to be disastrous. The challenge, however, for Team India is winning the tournament. Team India has been choking the final stages of the big tournaments. After winning the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, India lost in the finals of 2014 and the semifinals of the 2016 World Cup.
