Tata Power is planning to setup a 6000 MW Nuclear Power Plant in Andhra Pradesh. The company’s representatives met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday and explained the project. They asked 1750 acres of land from the government as its share. The company asked for land in Kavali or Nizampatnam.

Chandrababu Naidu clarified that land can not be given at Nizamapatnam as a port is planned there. He promised to consider giving the land at Kavali. Already a 10000 MW Nuclear Plant is coming up at Kovvada, Srikakulam district in association with Union government. 50 percent of power will be allocated to Andhra Pradesh.
On the other side, Tata Power which is generating 511 MW from all its units in the country, is planning to expand its investments in Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh now. Tata Power representatives will be meeting Andhra Pradesh officials very soon with the detailed proposals of their plans. The projects are likely to come up in Rayalaseema.
