The Telugu Desam Party moved to the High Court against approving the resignations of the village volunteers of Andhra Pradesh.
A petition was filed at the High Court requesting the magistrate to hold the approvals of the resignations of village volunteers.
It was stated that a few volunteers are planning to work for YCP and influence voters after resigning from their posts. Thus, the High Court was requested to hold the approvals of their resignations.
The court will hear the petition tomorrow. Last month, various volunteers were found violating the Election’s Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by participating in the campaign of the YSR Congress Party.
Later, the Election Commission issued an order barring the village volunteers from their duties during the election period.
It was alleged that after EC’s order, a few volunteers were trying to work for YCP and influence their local voters after resigning from their posts.
TDP requested the court not to approve these volunteers’ resignations till the election period is completed.
